What is Ivy ???

Ivy is a modular framework, written in PHP5 and based on the MVC model. It's small and lightweight and provides a basic set of tools for building web based applications or websites.

Why write your own framework  ?!?

The main reason I started developing Ivy is the reason I do anything in life... Because I can ! The other reason is that over the years I came into contact with a variety of differrent frameworks and systems like Symphony, CakePHP, CodeIgniter, Joomla and Drupal and all had their strong points and their weaker ones and instead of nagging about what I don't like about them I decided to try to make my own solution.

Is Ivy open-source ?

Currently the framework is still in it's infancy but at a certain point I may, or may not, publish it as an opensource project. In the meantime I will use this website as a proof of concept and rolling development project for the framework
